Overview

40' Standard Container - Cargo Worthy: Description

For anyone with enough space for a larger container, Container Technology  recommends our popular 40-foot Cargo Worthy Container with a maximum storage capacity of 2,700 cubic feet. Cargo worthy containers feature 14-gauge corrugated steel walls, marine-grade plywood flooring, locking cargo doors and are certified damage-free and ready for everything from local shipments to overseas deployment.

A single 40-foot container is a more economical option compared to buying or leasing two 20-foot containers. Our 40-foot cargo worthy containers may show very minor signs of rust or scratches but are watertight and structurally sound. Shipping containers are being customized for use in a variety of commercial, residential, and industrial applications including custom homes, construction job sites, and temporary security guard shacks.

Built to withstand extreme weather, temporary sales offices can be transported and reused at your next site once the buildout is complete. We also offer shipping container modification services, such as cutting, framing, insulation, flooring, and electrical for all your portable office space needs. Contact Container Technology today for help or to request a quote for your next storage container project.

Container Tech - Cargo Worthy Containers

A cargo worthy or seaworthy container is typically used for shipping purposes. A cargo worthy container is also wind & watertight (WWT). It will be free from holes and will not leak. However, once a container is retired from shipping service, the container needs to be re-certified by a maritime surveyor if it’s to be shipped again. To ship a container, it must conform to CSC (International Convention for Safe Containers) standards. It basically means that a container is suitable to be loaded/stacked on a container vessel for shipping. A maritime surveyor will ensure the container meets these standards. You should receive a certificate for the container that can be presented to the port authority. A cargo worthy container is generally 10+ years old. It will be in similar condition to a container that is WWT (dents, dings, surface rust, etc.).
